question about motherboard?

Hi everyone
I was looking for information about my motherboard (asus M4N86T-M V2) before I upgrade my CPU (athlon x2 255) to phenom x4 965.
When I went through the CPU support list for my motherboard on manufacturer website, I noticed it has “since BIOS” category for each CPU my motherboard supports (it has some numbers like 0304 or 0501). I figure out it’s kinda like a version for BIOS but when I check my BIOS version, it shows as ver 8.00.14 ( date 08/03/10) which is nowhere related to that “since BIOS”. Could you give me brief explanation on that?

BTW, athlon x2 255 and phenom x4 965 have the same “since BIOS” 0304 so I think I can install my new CPU without upgrade BIOS.

I think you need to re check which board you actually have I cant find no reference to a M4N86T-M V2
on the asus website, but there is for M4N68T-M V2 which is version 0304 to run the 965 x4. But as you say your version is ver 8. then something is wrong as the latest BIOS for the M4N68T-M V2 is 0501.

Open up your case and read the number from the motherboard, if the version is not listed look in the top left hand corner of the board or off the parallel port (inside)
