Suitable heatsink for AMD Sempron 2400+?
hi to all! i have a AMD Sempron 2400+ socket A (socket 462) processor and need to fit a new heatsink. i have a TR2 – M3 SE copper heatsink and despite it being a socket A, socket 462, heatsink it only mentions all AMD Duron and Athlon XP up to 3400+. as my sempron is the same socket, will it run ok with this new heatsink?
I’m not sure if you’d even generated enough heat to need a heatsink, although if you can find a cheap one , use it. Try running the computer without and CLOSELY monitor the temp, if it gets too high During Testing then you’ll know you need one, it sounds like you’d be ok w/o just use a good case fan, but run a test before you make the final decision.
