Is it best to load up the disk that came with my gigabyte motherboard?

it’s not an operating system disk and the mobo already has the bios in it, so what’s this disk for? am i denying myself performance by not installing what’s on the disk?
is it okay to load up the disk even though I already have win 7 ultimate 64 loaded?
