Planning on building my own newegg PC, going to be using it for gaming, gonna buy:

any suggestions or problems?
Just to let you know that the new 300GB Raptor drives are available and will definitely beat anything else currently available.
The raptor 150 drives are not worth it. Two 74GB drives in RAID 0 are better. Even better would be a Raid 0+1 setup with 4 Raptor 74GB drives, however it is hard to justify the cost when Western Digital’s single platter drive (has AA in the model name) provide great speeds with RAID 0 as well.
Also, as stated above the cpu isn’t what you should be looking at. New cpus are on the horizon that will be a huge step up in technology, but you might have to wait a year and it will cost you $900 easily. Really you should be looking at the Q6600 with the G0 stepping. It can be found for under $250 This is the best buy for cost to performance ratio as well as good future performance. It sucks though because the socket will change with nehalem cpus coming out, but thats technology for ya.
